National Healthy Watershed Consortium Grant Program on the Horizon…EPA to share details in upcoming webinars

EPA’s Office of Wetlands, Oceans, and Watersheds recently released a Request for Applications for entities interested in managing a second iteration of the Healthy Watersheds Consortium Grant Program. The EPA anticipates awarding one cooperative agreement under this announcement for approximately $2.1M. The grantee will be responsible for a 40% non-federal cost share/match. Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations, non-governmental organizations, interstate agencies, and intertribal consortia.
This grant program will support an array of demonstration and capacity-building subaward projects to advance watershed protection activities in healthy freshwater, estuarine, and marine ecosystems across the United States. Through the Healthy Watersheds Consortium Grant Program, the EPA seeks to protect and sustain healthy watersheds so they will continue to provide ecological services such as clean water, habitat for fish and wildlife, recreation, and protection from natural hazards.
The EPA will host two informational webinars for prospective applicants on March 28 from 1:00-2:30 PM Eastern (register here) and on April 9 from 2:30-4:00 PM Eastern (register here). EPA staff will provide an overview of the RFA and answer frequently asked questions on these webinars. All applications must be received by electronic submission through Grants.gov by 11:59 PM Eastern on May 10, 2024.
