Wheeling Creek Flood Prevention and Economic Development Watershed Tour – May 23

The Wheeling Creek Watershed Alliance and partners are having a Flood Prevention and Economic Development Watershed Tour of Wheeling Creek and SW PA Water Network participants are invited!
Thursday, May 23rd, 2024,  8am-4pm
Lunch and transportation to the sites will be provided, please dress to be outside in potentially muddy conditions.
This is a full day tour of creeks and reservoirs travelling in two 15 passenger vans to a variety of sites to discuss what is currently being done to prevent and manage flooding in the local area and what can be done to improve the safety and health of the residents and businesses in relation to water quality, water-based recreation and tourism, and flood management.  Sites on the tour include one of the Wheeling Creek Dams, a restored waterway, a stream on the greenway, a popular play area for children, and a kayak launch point on Wheeling Creek.
